Anh Vu was born and grew up in Hanoi, the city of beautiful art history and contemporary art scene, Anh Vu has beeen much into the Impressionism. He brings Hanoi old quaters, street scene, flower fields, and schoolgirls in their traditional aodai impressively into his works. The typical brush strokes created on his canvases by a mix of knife and brush in a layer of thick paints. This brings about a very smooth and free way to tell stories of all daily lives around him. Vu's paintings are works of real life between rmains of old beautiful Hanoi and the fast pace of city life today, between the past and the present, Hanoii in the sunny and rainy days. All mixed together in oppsite composition.
Ultimately, people are his main focus in his works, especially women figures. He has been very much inspired by women around him whether they are his grandmother, his mother, his sisters or just women he met on occasion in his way of art creation. They are all what makes him quite an artist today. .
